In a special webcast event that happened live last night (recorded & available here; things gets started at about 04:30), Dave introduced the last video and spent another 45 minutes or so telling a more complete, behind-the-scenes story of both his broken Taylor guitar and United Airlines’ profoundly broken customer service organization.

Song 3 of “United Breaks Guitars” to Debut on March 2



Dave Carroll original UBGJust a quick update: The third and last song in Dave Carroll’s United Airlines music video trilogy — “United Breaks Guitars” — will be released to the public on Tuesday, March 2.

Much more information about the song is available directly from Dave himself.

The airline’s Public Relations department is said to be rehearsing comprehensive disaster response operations in anticipation of the song’s release. PR spokesperson Robin Urbanski is reportedly planning a forceful, no-nonsense public statement to be built around the theme “This has struck a nerve with us.”

United Breaks Guitars, Song 2: Ms. Irlweg! Come To Your Senses!

Dave Carroll, he of great YouTube fame for shaming the dysfunctional and heartless United Airlines with a viral hit about how the airline broke his guitar, has released Song 2 of the trilogy he promised in July. In this video, we meet Ms. Irlweg, a girl-next-door hottie, who Dave imagines that he might pair up with, if only she would approve the reimbursement from United for his busted Taylor. Like the first song, the tune is catchy, though way different. It’s the kind of music that could only come from a Canadian — kind of a cross between honky-tonk and Biergarten tuba, with a little New Orleans flavor. I call it “tuba-tonky:”

Dave’s musical tribute to corporate idiocy went viral almost immediately, logging 1 million hits in about 36 hours.
