In yet another sign that exactly one airline is completely out of touch with customer-reality, the Twitterverse popped up a story today about media consultant John Battelle, who was recently stopped, on a wifi-equipped aircraft flying between New York and San Francisco, from using video chat to say “good night” to his wife and daughters.

Song 3 of “United Breaks Guitars” to Debut on March 2
Just a quick update: The third and last song in Dave Carroll’s United Airlines music video trilogy — “United Breaks Guitars” — will be released to the public on Tuesday, March 2.

The airline’s Public Relations department is said to be rehearsing comprehensive disaster response operations in anticipation of the song’s release. PR spokesperson Robin Urbanski is reportedly planning a forceful, no-nonsense public statement to be built around the theme “This has struck a nerve with us.”

Canadian musician Dave Carroll posted his viral-revenge video on YouTube on July 5, some eight months after United Airlines baggage handlers damaged his guitar and the airline refused to compensate him for his loss.
